My husband & I received an award from San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed and Council Member Pete Constant on Feb 18th for our contribution to our community at 2010 Community Breakfast featuring the State Of The City Address.

GREAT INFO, thanks for the tip, I will check it out.

I knew about the consolidation of OES and Fire, that will be interesting. I think that was the reason for loosing Kim. I hope she does well to find employment soon.

Hi Patty - - -

Actually I was in Oakland all this week taking an IMT Finance/Administration class with some of the Fire guys. I heard that the City of San Jose is consolidating their administrative departments and the San Jose Emergency Preparedness office will fall under the SJ Fire Dept under Battalion Chief Joe Carrillo. I hope to get introduced to him next week in Morgan Hill during Operations training. I asked CDF Battalion Chief Darrell Wolf (Morgan Hill) to introduce me.

No word yet on where Kim is headed, but I think we can all agree that it's not a good time to be unemployed. Hopefully I will learn more next week.

Right now I'm up at the San Ramon Valley Fire District with Jim Yoke taking a Finance & Admin. training class for emergency managers. It's pretty good... Mike Martinez (L.A.) & Ray Riordan (San Ramon) are teaching me the in's and out's of filling out FEMA reimbursement forms.

I'm new to California and doing the job-search, but right now I have a condo near Mclaughlin & Tully, which is about 2 miles south of 280 & 101.

I'll be at Kim Shunk's going away party Monday evening.. I'm hoping to find out exactly what happened to the SJ OES and what their plans are.

Just remember we can never have too many sites that keep us talking. At least we are talking and trying to get everyone ready for that big one.
